Joran van der Sloot, the Dutch students last time American teenagers Natalie Holloway before her disappearance and presumed death, is now the prime suspect in the death of a Peruvian woman. Reports indicate that the woman who disappeared on Friday and yesterday was found brutally stabbed to death and wrapped in a blanket in the room of Van der Sloot. Stephany Ramirez Flores, the daughter of 21 years, a racing driver from Peru, was found dead in a hotel room registered van der Sloot. The victim's father, Ricardo Flores, told members of the Peruvian press, "I hope that this crime must not go unpunished." Van der Sloot has left Peru on Monday and believed that Chile

More than $25 million was reportedly raised for Haiti relief between two giant telethons in the United States and Canada Friday night (Jan. 22) as stars flocked to entertain, encourage donations and man the telephones. The two-hour telethon, broadcast simultaneously on 25 stations in the United States, featured mega stars like George Clooney, Leonardo Dicaprio pleading for funds for Haiti as performers ranging from Bruce Springsteen, Madonna, Justin Timberlake, Sting, Mary J. Blige and Bono sang while such luminaries as movie producer Steven Spielberg and actors Julia Roberts and Mel Gibson manned phone banks for the two hours of the telethon.
