During the mating season, males become extremely aggressive, and women are based on several tactics to defend themselves. including all sexual relations at the same time. The "Battle of the Sexes," the phrase literally applies Assam macaques South Asia.

Part of this may be the frustration of playing -- because females do not show signs of fertility and her partner at all points of their menstrual cycle, there is never a guarantee that sex will lead to the design. The mating season lasts from October to January, and men tend to be more aggressive as the season progresses. This is the basic situation of Assam macaques living in the populations of some three dozen monkeys, of which there are a dozen of each adult male and female.

Despite their aggressive mating season, male macaques Assam, in fact become very good father, though a bit "involuntarily. And men actually do most of the responsibilities of parents. Unlike species in which every parent knows what her son, male macaques are not going around killing the young of other males. This leads to serious confusion in men who have children, and that has benefits serious for women and the population as a whole.

But this only works if all men are not sure about the paternity of their children. This is where the dominant alpha male complicate matters -- should be able to intimidate and control other people so they can monopolize several females, which means you need to know to make sure your child is.

By studying one of the crew macaques in Thailand, found that women tend to mate together at the same time. The alpha male, of course, you could choose a mate, leaving all the other women are free to find other partners. Researchers at the University of German Gttingen decided to solve this mystery and find an answer really impressive. Every day, the females are ready to have sex all or they were not.

And "something" fascinating cooperative behavior, and lead researcher Agnes Frtbauer believe that women developed specifically for this strategy to ensure that all partners can take over without risking the wrath of the alpha male, not to talk about men taking a incentive to care for children. Basically, the group of sex crazy build social harmony. at least among the macaques.

Apple wanted the day to be all about its new iPhone 4S, but the absence of the companys charismatic co-founder was palpable. On the far right of the jam-packed theaters front row was an empty chair, its back covered by a black cloth with reserved written in bright, white letters possibly a subtle tribute to the ailing icon. The deteriorating health of Steve Jobs loomed over Apples Oct. 4 press event at the companys headquarters in Cupertino, Calif.

Neither did Phil Schiller, Apples longtime marketing chief, who pulled the curtain off the new iPhone, or Eddy Cue, head of Internet software and services, who rolled out a new Web storage system, iCloud. Tim Cook, the companys new chief executive officer, took the stage first to kick off the 90-minute show, but he spoke slowly and deliberately, and perhaps, in hindsight, with a touch of melancholy. Jobs passed away at 3 p.m. The executives knew the situation was grim. the following day, kicking off a wave of reflection and adulation that continues even now. He didnt mention Jobs once.

With the death of Jobs at age 56, Forstall has now become an even more important and visible member of Apples leadership team. At 42 hes the youngest senior executive at Apple. When he says stuff, people listen.. As the person in charge of Apples mobile software division, he oversees the iOS operating system, which runs the iPhone and iPad, devices that account for 70 percent of Apples revenues. He was as close to Steve as anybody at the company, says Andy Miller, who headed Apples fledgling iAd group before leaving the company this summer. He may also be the best remaining proxy for the voice of Steve Jobs, the person most likely to channel the departed co-founders exacting vision for how technology should work.

On a crucial 2009 patent for a touchscreen device controlled by finger commands, Forstall, Scott is listed second, right after Jobs, Steven P.. His name is on about 50 Apple patents that cover everything from how application icons are laid out on the iPhone screen to the method of turning off a device with a finger swipe. In less than five years, iOS the latest version, iOS 5, ships this week has become one of the most valuable corporate assets on Earth. Forstall, who went to work for Jobs right out of college, is one of the key architects of Apples current success.

He has Jobss knack for translating technical, feature-set jargon into plain English. In many ways, Forstall is a mini-Steve. Hes known to have a taste for the Mercedes-Benz SL55 AMG, in silver, the same car Jobs drove, and even has a signature on-stage costume: black shoes, jeans, and a black zippered sweater. (He favors Reyn Spooner Hawaiian shirts for normal days at the office.). Hes a hard-driving manager who obsesses over every detail.

Hes won the intense loyalty and allegiance of many of his underlings, and his engineers are among the hardest workers at the company. At the same time, according to several former Apple employees, a number of high-ranking executives have left the company because they found working with Forstall so difficult. That sentiment, it seems, has not been limited to fellow executives. (Forstall and Apple declined several requests to comment; Steve Dowling, a company spokesman, says Apple does not cooperate on media profiles of its top executives.). One former member of the iOS team, a senior engineer, describes leaving Apple after growing tired of working with Forstall and hearing his common refrain: Steve wouldnt like that. Similarly frustrated engineers from Forstalls group have been hired by other Silicon Valley companies, according to one CEO. Forstall is like Steve in one other important way: He can be, in what some of his co-workers might call an understatement, a polarizing figure.

And I didnt mean it as a criticism. You could say the same thing about Steve Jobs.. I once referred to Scott as Apples chief ahole, says former Apple software engineer Mike Lee, who left the company in 2010. Office politics are nothing unusual in Corporate America, nor are ambitious and divisive managers. Even if Forstall is controversial, he may just be what Apple needs now that Jobs is gone a detail-oriented obsessive who gets things done, egos be damned. I meant it as a compliment.

Its board of directors must find a new chairman and take a more assertive role guiding the company. Without its Decider-in-Chief, the company must fundamentally change the way it works. At weekly Monday meetings, Apple executives disagreed about matters all the time, but could count on Jobs to make the final call. And Cook must ensure there isnt an exodus of those in the companys top ranks, all of whom are extravagantly wealthy and were loyal to Jobs. Apple now confronts a whole set of new challenges if it is to continue its epic success into the post-Jobs era.

But if they treat it as a shared legacy, there is a way to keep that spirit alive.. In families that lose a beloved parent, the children either band together with a shared sense of history and mission or tear each other apart over the spoils of the estate. The controversial and ambitious Forstall may present the greatest management puzzle. Apples executives have to learn new roles, but if somebody among them rises up and lords over the others, they can be resented for being presumptuous, [of trying to] assume Steve Jobss legacy, says Jeffrey Sonnenfeld, senior associate dean of the Yale University School of Management.

They will tease me that iOS is crushing Mac in sales.. The group seems to have embraced some of the us-versus-the-rest-of-Apple mentality of Jobss legendary early-1980s Mac development team, which was housed in a separate building that flew a Jolly Roger flag. Every iPhone engineer and iOS engineer I know at Apple has some of that, says Wil Shipley, an independent developer who has written software for the Macintosh for decades. Forstall is clearly adept at motivating his employees. Colleagues say members of the iOS team often skip Apples Friday night beer bashes for coding sessions, and work such long hours, says Lee, that they have piles of the vouchers that entitle them to free dinners at the company cafeteria, Caffe Macs. Relentlessness is a virtue, most of the time.

Here’s how the events panned out today. Apple’s latest iPhone, the 4S, went on sale in Australia today and hundreds have formed queues outside Apple stores across the country to be the first in the world to get their hands on it. Reaction has generally been positive, but it looks like the drawcard feature -- the “Siri” personal assistant -- may experience a bumpy introduction to the Australian accent.

2.54pm: Those who pre-ordered iPhone 4S devices could be waiting until the middle of next week with many customers reporting that their orders have still yet to leave Hong Kong and China. Very annoyed,” wrote one tweeter. My iPhone is currently in Hong Kong. never going to pre-order again from apple.”. Picked one up today in store instead in < 30 mins. Another said: “Still stuck in china. “Pre-ordered with Apple online within 15 minutes of pre-orders opening.

“Will you marry me?” He asked the new voice activation feature Siri (not to be confused with Tom Cruise’s daughter Suri). 11.46am: The security guards are keeping a close eye on numbers heading through the doors of the Apple Store Perth. “We hardly know each other,” the sassy device replied. Trent, who was waiting since 2.30am WST, was already trying out the new phone before he left the store.

Unfortunately no one resembles Chris Judd. The Apple team at the company’s flagship Perth store are cheering like a footy team heading into the grand final. The crowds are so big the queue had to be split in two and is now holding up morning traffic. 11.10am: Perth joins the party as the iPhone 4S goes on sale in Western Australia.

This is hugely disappointing if the app can’t be used for searching for things nearby in Australia, especially since Siri makes use of the iPhone 4S GPS. . It did this with all local business searches he tried. But when he asked it where to find a local pub, it said it could only do that type of searching in the US. Ben found that if you enunciated words more than usual it tended to work better. 10.52am: Fairfax deputy technology editor Ben Grubb’s initial impression of the “personal assistant” voice recognition app Siri is that it is pretty cool. When he asked it when the Sydney Harbour Bridge was built it gave him the completion year -- 1932. It appears to understand his and other Australian accents in the office quite well but does sometimes get phrases wrong.

He’s had every iPhone ever released. He didn’t find it funny when she mentioned that those in Perth might be sold the Nokia 3200 because we’re three hours late to the launch party. He just showed WAtoday.com.au reporter Jenna Clarke how to save battery life on her dodgy handset. Radio stations are trying to tempt people out of the line for prizes. 10.20am: Less than an hour to go in Perth and more than 300 people are waiting patiently outside the city’s Apple Store. Mitch, who is first in line, is having no part in it.

At 9am, about 20 people were lining up outside the store, as well as across the road at Optus’ main city store. With no official Apple store in the city centre, many headed down to My Mac on Flinders Street -- only to be greeted with a sign on the door saying it had not yet received any iPhone 4S stock.

Patent expert Florian Mueller, who has been covering the Apple vs Android patent battles around the world with a fine-tooth comb, has published an ominous post stemming from Apple’s victory over Samsung in the Federal Court in Sydney yesterday. 9.15am: The iPhone 4S should be a hit regardless of what competition is out there but Apple has recently used the legal system to make life even more difficult for its rivals.

They will affect all Android-based smartphones and tablet computers, across all vendors.”. “The two patents on which today’s ruling is based aren’t Galaxy Tab 10.1-specific at all. “After today’s decision, I believe no company in the industry [will] be able to launch any new Android-based touchscreen product in Australia anytime soon without incurring a high risk of another interim injunction,” he wrote yesterday.

About a dozen people are waiting outside Brisbane’s Queen Street Mall Optus store, including a woman who does not want to be named because she doesn’t want her boss to know the real reason why she’ll be late to work today. “Message everybody and download all of the apps” is how this fan plans to break in her 4S. Ask her how long she has been in the line and she swiftly consults her soon-to-be-replaced iPhone 3GS (she got here an hour and a half before the 8am Brisbane launch). 9.10am: Brisbane is next cab off the iPhone rank.

I was previously a work from home employee and I loved it! I can’t wait to get back to that. Tons of people ask how I managed to do it but truth is I always felt way better about working more hours and it not draining me and I felt more productive. It is great to see that the world is moving along with this trend but it is certainly still difficult to find this gems of employment. It certainly isn’t for everyone but for me I was more productive and worked more hours, especially since there is no commuting.

Our entire staff telecommutes. We have employees from 4 states and 2 countries.I work as hard or harder than I have in any standard office job, but the time that I used to spend commuting I spend taking better care of myself by exercising. In the last 2 years I’ve had virtually no sick days.

I’d say that 85% of our inner office conversations actually take place on iChat. We use iChat to show our statuses among coworkers and Skype and now Google + hangouts for staff meetings or complex conversations. We have set hours because much of our work is customer service and technical support. After doing this for 2 years, I don’t understand why more companies aren’t using this model. I’m glad to see from this article that the trend is growing.

There are many distractions that can deter people from working even for entrepreneurs who solely rely on their actions for income. Working from home is difficult for many people. Only with clear goals and communication can a work-from-home employee set up work. I guess it can also depend on the nature of the business.

I tend to divide my time 50/50 between working from home and being office-based, mostly because, when I’m home, I have access to much better tools; computer, software, Internet connection than my company can currently provide. Thus in order to deliver my absolute best work, something I can be proud of, working from home is something of a necessity.

Instead, i have to put up with the tedious politics of an angered open-plan office every day, where i drive to, to connect to web servers and do my work! I could be doing this on a faster connection, without the politics, and with greater happiness if i worked from home :/. i dream of being able to work from home – but here in the UK I’m just not feeling that culture take hold.

Works for me!. Plus, I’ve been there for school events I may have otherwise missed. I love the freedom and flexibility it provides and I definitely feel I have always been extremely productive in this environment. I’ve worked from home for the last 12 years either for a company or as an independent contractor.

I suppose the only thing I miss is the office culture, so there is a bit of a disconnected feeling. I’m also much more relaxed and, in general, happier. With Skype, too, I’m able to have video conferences and not miss a meeting. I find that my attention is much more focused on prioritizing and completing projects quickly, efficiently, and thoroughly I’m not interrupted 20 times a day by menial issues. I moved from Boston to San Francisco and am working remotely while helping to transition someone new. Otherwise, it rocks.

I started my own business 7 years ago now and on and off for it all I have been at home doing my thing selling plants like flowers and veggies and herbs ext. NOT all work done from home is on the computer and the SMS I rarely even see locals with internet it would be lost on them I have had a web site for years a email for longer but still most of my recurring business is from the simple business card and word of mouth I always hand out two and I never rush a customer I welcome them to come see my plants and my yard I show them how green stuff = happiness. I am open when I am awake and closed when I can’t get woke up and it is easy to wake a mother up by the way. My biggest problem is marketing in a small town is limited to 2 newspapers and signs I have 200+ on my direct list but less than 2% have email! much less are linked into social stuff on the web what then?. I love it for a few years I even opened a second shop off in the center of town which worked great when the recession didn’t cut 100′s into 20′s spent on flowers went from selling 10000 to 3500 in 3 years yikes! but by working from home I can shrink and expand at will and as the market dictates. It works and I get to spend time with my kids and dogs and garden I LOVE it I will never clock into a 9-5 again.

I’ve been working at home as a virtual assistant/online business manager for several years now and not only is there an adjustment and level of discipline needed on the part of the teleworker but also on the part of the manager/supervisor/boss. Virtual work can be incredibly successful and efficient with the aid of some clear ground rules and expectations on things like availability, productivity requirements, etc. There is a huge amount of trust that must occur in the working relationship when employees are not right “under the boss’ nose” so establishing a framework in the beginning is helpful.

During his 13 years at Apple, 50, Cook learned a growing list of operational functions, including production, distribution, sales and customer service. Tim Cook, COO, head of Apple Inc., will fill that role, now that is taking the reins of Labor. What has not been tested is whether it is a vision of the product.

Your ability to inventory management has allowed Apple to sell the iMac in a range of mouth instead of beige. Cook operational skills have served as the backbone of the expansion of Apple since he joined the company from Compaq Computer Corp. in 1998. The company is due to the demand for its iPod, iPhone and iPad, with new products delivered to the customer's home, often within 48 hours.

"Tim is because I had reading glasses – which has a penchant for spreadsheets with the smallest letters possible to obtain more data columns on one page," Janes said. "There's an old adage that you can not manage what you can not measure. This is the philosophy that adheres sometimes to the chagrin of his direct reports.."

Jobs, who battled a rare form of cancer, cook at the bar in the first half of 2009. Cook the trust built during visits with investors when the stock rose 70 percent. He made a total of 59.1 million this year, including $ 52.3 million in stock awards after the address of the company, while the employee was on sick leave. In fiscal 2010, including paying Cook $ 40,001 for accrued but unused vacation.

To maintain its number of innovations, Cook will have to have a body of leaders. The management team that meets regularly on Monday morning to receive updates and discuss the marketing strategy have been together for years. Bob Mansfield hardware engineering, and chief financial officer Peter Oppenheimer. Jonathan Ive oversees a team of product designers, which is considered among the best in the world. Scott Forstall leads the development of Apple's mobile software.

Cook and sat on the edge of Nike who oversaw the removal of CEO Phil Knight. thrived without its iconic leader, said John Connors, a venture capitalist at Ignition Partners and former CFO of Microsoft Corp. and International Business Machines Corp companies like Nike Inc.
