The developer, Gamal El-Sharif, described the project as an "Islamic community center, including a 500-seat center, performing arts, a conference room, pool, gym, cooking school, restaurant and space for prayer Muslims. The leaders of the Islamic Center say they plan to build 100 million, 13-story structure called a house of Córdoba three blocks from where the attacks of September 11.
